The Poem

Flurry of pigeons

Flurry of pigeons

I have ceased to bury

Memories under mile posts

But carry in my blood

The flurry of grey pigeons

The devious lane

Star's faint light

voices of the dead

Fragments of Song

Children's upturned faces

Lines from books

The burden has grown

Heavy, I cannot bequeath

Wealth without substance

Perhaps flames will release

The flurry of grey pigeons.
