The Poem

Silence

Silence

I am afraid of your silence Because it is

not the silence

Of the flower, the rock, the sky

It is not the silence of the wise one

who waits for truth to be realized

But a silence whose veins are

Knotted in rage'

A silence so brutal, so punishing

That I yearn to fill it

with blossoms of words

And the endless symphony

Of the cosmos.
